The Catawba Valley Amateur Radio Society (W4CVR) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the IRS. The Catawba Valley Amateur Radio Society (W4CVR) is currently the ONLY active amateur radio (ham radio) club in Catawba County that regularly meets, provides license testing, is involved with community events/engagements, and provides Emergency Communications during local disasters and devastating events. Membership is open to anyone and everyone interested in the radio hobby, whether it be ham radio, GMRS, prepper, GRS/MURS, CB, or anything else that involved radio communications; no matter where you live or work, as long as you are able to come to meetings.
We began our journey in May of 2019 and have grown into a tight-knit group of friends who share the love of the hobby together. We meet on the last Monday of each month in the Hickory, NC area. We also offer license testing/upgrade exams on the first Saturday of each month (Dates and times can be found by clicking on the MEETINGS and/or TESTING tabs up top of this page).
If you would like more information about our club, or you’re interested in becoming a club member (current dues are $20 per year), please fill out the Contact Us section on this page and we’ll get back in touch with you ASAP. If you're interested in testing at our license exam session, click the TESTING link at the top of this page to choose the day and register. Feel free to send us a message with any questions you may have by clicking the yellow CONTACT box below.
