About Us

The Catawba Valley Amateur Radio Society (W4CVR) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the IRS.  We are currently the ONLY active radio club in Catawba County that regularly meets, provides license testing, and is involved with community events and engagement.  Membership is open to anyone and everyone interested in the hobby, no matter where you live or work.

We began our journey in May of 2019 and have grown into a tight-knit group of friends who share the love of the radio hobby together.  We meet on the last Thursday of each month in the Hickory, NC area.  We also offer license testing/upgrade exams on the 1st Saturday of each month (Dates and times can be found by clicking on the MEETINGS and/or TESTING tabs up top of this page).
